WoW Festival

Women of Wandsworth have been invited to have a stall at the WoW festival, organised by Women of the World from Friday, 8th March until Sunday 10th March 2013 from 10am – 6pm in Festival Hall, Southbank centre to celebrate Women’s International Day and achievements of the women across the world, while highlighting the need for grater equality. This event combines the live music with live debates, films screening and speed mentoring.

Everyone is welcome.

WoW Enterprise Club

WoW Enterprise Club is on Friday, 8th March 2013 from 11am – 1pm in 200 Pennethorne House, Battersea SW11 2SH. Refreshments provided. The speaker will be a newly self-employed Mother Kimberly Brown.

Big Local Consultation

Big Local SW11 free event is on Saturday, 2nd  March from 12 to 3pm in Sacred Heart School. The aim of this event is to consult the residents on how they would like to spend the £1 million donated by the Big Lottery Fund to improve Battersea.Come and have a fun day with a BBQ, bouncy castle, football and performance Sacred Heart Choir, Christ Church school’s drummers and  boy band Concept.

The next Big Local consultation event is on Saturday, 16th March in York Garden’s Library from 12 – 4pm.

Valentines Day in Haven Lodge

WoW Mums will celebrate Valentine’s Day in Haven Lodge with the residents. Wear something red or pink and bring a photo of your loved one.  All invited from 11am – 1pm, 2 Wolftencroft Close, Battersea SW11.

The hot topic at our Parent Forum on 4th February is the increasing accessibility and visibility of pornography in society and crucially in schools, playgrounds and children’s rooms. The speakers will explain the inherent harm in this form of “entertainment” for every member of society, for women, men, boys and girls. All welcome at 1pm in KLS, 108 Battersea High Street SW11 3HP.

Chinese New Year

WoW Mums are going to celebrate Chinese New Year in Eat Play Love community hub on Battersea Park Road with the proprietor Mrs. Jeanette Wickham, an ardent WoW Mum. Jeanette has brought China Town to Battersea with a spectacular special offer to celebrate this event – Mandarin style.Everyone is invited to try scrumptious, exotic and fun Chinese Steam Boat dish, which is brilliant for sharing and fun to eat, since you choose how and what you wish to put in your tasty soup from a selection of vegetables, seafood and meat.

London Mini Marathon

Ishan Faisal is running the London Mini Marathon on Sunday, 3rd February 2013 in Battersea Park. The race for under 13 year old boys starts at  at 10.30am. Ishan is fundraising for WoW Kids project and would appreciate if you could support him by attending the race or contacting the WoW Mums for a donation.

WoW Taekwondo for Children

WoW Taekwondo Course for Children starts on Saturday, 19th January 2013 for 10 weeks until 23rd March 2013. Juniors start at 10am – 11am and Seniors from 11am – 12 in KLS, 108 Battersea High Street, SW11 3HP.
