Monkey Bread
1 and 1/2 cup self raising flour optional extras
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 1 tsp cinamon
100 g butter -leave at room temperature and cut into cubes 1/2 cup walnuts/pecans
1/2 cup firmly packed soft brown sugar
1 cup of Sultanas
2 eggs lightly beaten
3 very ripe bananas
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp honey
1 tsp vanilla
Heat oven to 180 degree C. Grease loaf pan. Rub butter, flour and bicarbonate of soda itogether. Mash bananas with milk and add to flour mixture. Add Sultanas, brown sugar, eggs and honey into mixture. Mix the ingredients with wooden spoon. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO OVER MIX! Pour into loaf pan and bake for aproximately 45-50 mins. Use skewer to check if it is cooked through. If it comes out clean and dry, than it’s done.

Community chef is cooking with mums on Friday 25.April , when children go back to school. If you would like to get a new recipe or idea for your next lunch menu, join us at 11 am in KLS cafe.
Because it’s Half Term, instead of our regular coffee morning we organised Still Life Painting for children (but Mums can join in, too) on Friday, 18.April in Goulden House, Entrance B on Bullen Street, Battersea. We have limited amount of equipment, so if you would like to come, bring any brushes or paints that you might have. If not, come anyway at 2pm-4pm and learn something through play.
Weather permiting, we will enjoy a game of tennis in Fredwell Gardens in Battersea on Sunday 6.April from 11am – 1pm. Join us even if you don’t know how to play tennis, or don’t have the equipment, because we have 4 tennis raquets, which we will share in turns.
Half term fun starts this weekend. If you like cooking join us on Friday 4.April and Friday 11.April in KLS cafe (108 Battersea High Street) at 10.30am, when we will be making pizzas and spring rolls with children.
Traditional Easter Egg Hunt has been organised in beautifully refurbished Fred Wells Gardens in Battersea on Sunday 16. March at 1pm. Weather permitting, there will be an ‘egg in a spoon’ race too and lunch in nearby restaurant.
We have something special planned for our Friday networking on 7.3.2008. Join us in KLS cafe, 108 Battersea High Street and help us raise funds for Sacred Heart Battersea School’s new kitchen. There are scrumptious cheese swirls, chocolate tart, strawberry cake and much more on offer!
Please join us on Friday 29.2. 2008. at 10.30 in KLS café, where we will be making jewellery and cards for our mums with our Jewellery Designer Maria Wright. Hope to see you there.
